I’ve published a handful of blogs since October of last year so I thought it would be best to formally introduce myself.

I am a multilingual Filipina-American currently on self teaching myself how to code. I have been on this journey for four weeks now and have done projects with HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, JQuery, and MySQL. I finally committed to this journey because I felt like I wasn’t growing in my previous role as an analyst at a film start-up. In the past four weeks, my learning curve has been steep since I am taking in so much information daily. I love it though, I am grateful to be challenged and steer my brain muscles.

I see it as learning another language but to communicate with computers. With that said, I go back and forth between English and Visaya on my day to day life. I can comprehend much of Tagalog, some Spanish and for some magical reason, I can be fluent in them when I am immersed in a space where I have to use those languages.

I love learning about other cultures. In this short, yet long life. I desire to learn as much as I can from different mediums and people. Especially those from other countries so I can get a taste of different perspectives and ideas. Speaking of taste, food is one of my love languages that is deeply rooted from my Filipino culture. Each event is usually around the food being served. Whether it is lechon at a fiesta, boodle, lobster at family bbq’s. Moreover, I love trying anything that I’m not allergic to.

Example of a Boodle!

I have had a passion for writing since I was young but never had the confidence to publish my thoughts in the digital space. So — thanks for taking time to visit my page. I hope you enjoy my blog posts!
